The weather brought a slow start to summer fun this year, but clear blue skies appeared and freshly rolled greens followed! It has been great to see so many of you out on the course putting for birdie, relaxing down at our beautiful lakefront or enjoying great meals at the Yacht Club. Carrying on the tradition started by Karen Barris we would like to give you an update of the Real Estate Market in Abbey Springs.
A unique year for Real Estate in Abbey Springs – not unlike every other! Starting hot 19 units sold in the first half of the year but not a single condo has closed since mid-June. Less Condo and Townhouse units for sale has led to an increase in most prices and a decline in the number of days it takes to sell a unit. Buyers are willing to pay a premium for these type of units.
Si ngle Family inventory has remained high with prices dropping slightly by 5%. The average da ys on the market of currently listed homes is 457 days, still better than the 2017 average of 613, but very long compared to other markets.
Recently updated units continue to sell for higher prices and faster!
Overall a strong start to 2018 with a disappointing mid Summer market. Our Late Summer/Fall marketing push, social media presence, and open house tours should lead to an increase in activity. The number of inquiries about Abbey Springs remains high – we can only hope they fall in love with the “Abbey Springs Lifestyle” as much as we have!
